Tariffs, Trudeau: ‘Trade war will mostly hurt Americans’

The US has chosen to launch a ‘trade war’ that will ‘hurt American families most of all’. This was said by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in a speech from Ottawa in which he directly addressed the Americans, following the entry into force of the 25% tariffs decided by the Trump administration. The ‘pretext’ used by the US administration to impose the duties on Canada, the alleged unwillingness of Canadians to fight the fentanyl trade, is ‘completely false,’ the Canadian politician added. ‘Donald, you are a very smart man, but this is a very stupid thing to do,’ Trudeau concluded.
