Tariffs: Trump’s 25% Duties on Steel and Aluminum Come into Effect

Washington (USA), March 12 (LaPresse/AP) – The 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump have officially come into effect. This measure, based on a directive issued in February, also puts an end to all exemptions.

Trump has promised that these tariffs will help create jobs in U.S. factories at a time when his fluctuating tariff threats are shaking the stock market and raising fears of an economic slowdown.
