Kyiv, Ukraine (LaPresse) – At least three people were killed, including a five-year-old child, after Russia launched a barrage of drones against Kyiv on Sunday night, according to local Ukrainian officials and emergency services.
In the early hours of the night, prolonged sounds of explosions were heard, as the airstrike lasted over five hours. Russian drones and debris from downed drones, which were flying at lower altitudes to evade air defenses, fell on residential buildings.
The military administration of Kyiv city stated that three people were killed, and 10 others were injured. Two residential buildings in the Dnipro district caught fire due to falling drone debris, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city's military administration. A fire broke out on the top floor of a nine-story building, killing a woman. In the Podil district, a fire broke out on the 20th floor of a 25-story building. In Holosiivskyi, fires broke out in a warehouse and an office building, resulting in one death.
