France, Sarkozy: ‘I will continue to fight for the truth’

Turin, 27th Mar. (LaPresse) – ‘I will continue to fight tooth and nail for the truth and to believe in the wisdom of the Court’. This is how former French president Nicolas Sarkozy commented on the seven-year prison sentence requested by the prosecution in the trial in which he is accused of having received funding from Libya during the 2007 election campaign. The prosecutor ‘has insisted for 13 years in an attempt, using all possible means, to prove my guilt’, he wrote in a post on X. For Sarkozy ‘none of the facts brought to light and emphasised by my defence during the hearing before the Court could shake this basic ideological postulate’, he added.
