Gaza, Medical Sources: "25 Killed in Israeli Overnight Raids"

Milan, April 8 (LaPresse/AP) – At least 25 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes overnight in the Gaza Strip, including 8 children and 5 women, according to Palestinian medical sources. One strike hit a house in the central city of Deir al-Balah, killing 11 people, including five two-year-old children, according to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital where the bodies were taken. Another 4 people were killed in a separate strike on a different house in Deir al-Balah, the same hospital reported. A further raid in the northern city of Beit Lahiya flattened a house and killed a family of 7, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Lastly, another airstrike in a northwestern area of Gaza City killed 4 people, one of whom, according to the ministry, was due to be married next week. Israel claims it targets only militants and holds Hamas responsible for civilian casualties, citing its operations in densely populated areas.
