Milan, April 15 (LaPresse) – EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas Should Be Removed from Office, Says Russian Official
Vyacheslav Volodin, President of the Russian Duma, stated in a Telegram message that EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas should be removed from her position and brought before an international UN tribunal. His statement followed Kallas's remarks on May 9, when she said that no EU candidate country should participate in Moscow's Victory Day celebrations, marking Russia's victory over Nazism. Volodin called Kallas's statement disrespectful to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives to save the world from fascism. "If it hadn't been for the heroic efforts of Soviet soldiers 80 years ago, there would be no Europe today," Volodin said, adding, "We can forgive various mistakes by politicians, except for one: the desecration of the memory of those who made it possible for us to live today."
