Milan, 20 May (LaPresse) – "The war can end tomorrow if the remaining hostages are released, Hamas lays down its arms, its murderous leaders are exiled and Gaza is demilitarised. No nation can be expected to accept anything less, and Israel certainly will not. This is a war of civilisation against barbarism. Israel will continue to defend itself by all means necessary until total victory is achieved.‘ This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in response to the joint statement issued yesterday by France, the United Kingdom and Canada, in which Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Mark Carney said: ’If Israel does not cease its new military offensive and lift restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete measures in response. We have always supported Israel's right to defend Israelis from terrorism. But this escalation is completely disproportionate." ‘By calling on Israel to end a defensive war for our survival before the Hamas terrorists on our borders are destroyed, and by calling for a Palestinian state, the leaders of London, Ottawa and Paris are offering a huge reward for the genocidal attack on Israel on 7 October, while calling for more such atrocities,’ Netanyahu replied.
