Pyongyang, May 27 (LaPresse) – "The establishment by the United States of a new missile defense system represents a very dangerous threatening initiative aimed at jeopardizing the strategic security of nuclear-armed states considered hostile by the US and facilitating the use of offensive military force by US forces." This is stated in a memorandum by the Institute for American Studies of the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cited by KCNA, the central news agency of Pyongyang. According to the memorandum, the U.S. plan for the missile defense system called 'Golden Dome', "whose aim is to tightly protect the North American continent from ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missile attacks by strategic enemy states, is a typical product of the 'America First' doctrine, the height of arrogance, presumption, and unilateral practice. It is a nuclear war scenario in space supporting the U.S. strategy of unipolar dominance through the preemptive establishment of a space military structure, not a 'defensive measure' against an alleged 'threat'."
