Dubai (United Arab Emirates), July 7 (LaPresse/AP) – Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed that the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned cargo ship they attacked on Sunday in the Red Sea has sunk. The announcement was made by Houthi military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree. There have been no statements so far from the owners of the Magic Seas, the ship's name, nor from other authorities. Sunday’s attack set the Magic Seas on fire in the Red Sea. The 22 crew members later abandoned the vessel and were rescued. Saree stated that the Houthis targeted the ship because it belonged to a company they allege continues to call at Israeli ports.
