Texas: Man opens fire with rifle at border police, shot dead

McAllen (Texas, USA), July 7 (LaPresse/AP) – A 27-year-old man was shot and killed today after opening fire at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas. McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said the man was armed with an assault rifle and that federal agents returned fire. The suspect has been identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda. Authorities also found another rifle and additional ammunition. Rodriguez stated that the man’s motive is currently unknown. One officer was injured in the shooting; Rodriguez noted it is unclear whether the injury was caused by shrapnel or a bullet.
