Ukraine, Kyiv: 11 civilians killed in overnight Russian attacks

Milan, July 7 (LaPresse/AP) – At least 11 civilians were killed and over 80 injured, including 7 children, in Russian attacks that struck Ukraine overnight, according to local authorities. During the night drone attacks, one person was killed in the southern city of Odesa, another was killed and 71 were injured in the northeastern city of Kharkiv, while falling drone debris caused damage in two districts of the capital, Kyiv. Russian short-range drones also caused 2 deaths and 2 injuries in the northern region of Sumy, one of the areas where Russia has concentrated a large number of troops. Additionally, 7 people were killed and 9 injured in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin, who did not specify what weapons were used in this case. Today, new long-range Russian drone attacks also targeted military recruitment centers for the third time in five days, in what the Ukrainian army’s ground forces command described as a clear attempt to disrupt enlistment. Finally, regional officials in Kharkiv and the southern Zaporizhzhia area reported that at least 17 people were injured.
