USA: Death toll from Texas flooding rises to 89, with 75 in Kerr County alone

Milan, July 7 (LaPresse/AP) – The death toll from flooding in central Texas has risen to 89, U.S. authorities report. Of these, 75 deaths have been recorded in Kerr County alone, where the Camp Mystic summer camp is located. The risk of potentially deadly flooding remains high in central Texas, with more rain expected.
Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha provided the update, stating that as of 8:30 a.m. local time, the county had confirmed 75 deaths—48 adults and 27 children. “Of those 48 adults and 27 children, 15 adults and 9 children have yet to be identified,” he said during a press conference. “At the moment, 10 campers from Camp Mystic and one counselor are still missing,” he added.
