Ukraine: Tass, unlikely Putin-Zelensky-Trump trilateral in Rome

Rome, Aug. 19 (LaPresse) – A possible trilateral meeting in Rome between Vladimir Putin, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Donald Trump is considered “unlikely” due to “various reasons, both formal, logistical, and political,” a diplomatic source told Tass. The source recalled that Moscow currently regards Italy as a hostile country and that the actions of its authorities have been repeatedly criticized by the Russian government. “It is unlikely that Russia would want to give political prestige to this government,” another source told the agency. At the moment, Geneva, Switzerland, seems to be the most likely venue for such a meeting, and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has also said that the Swiss city could be “the best location.”
