Rome, 9 September (LaPresse) – “On Flotilla, we have always said that there are safer ways to get food aid to the civilian population of Gaza, which are the ways followed by institutional channels. Italy is continuing with the “Food for Gaza” project. We have distributed thousands and thousands of tonnes of flour as well as various other types of food, including animal feed and food for the civilian population, in agreement with the Palestinians and Israel and with the support of the United Nations through the World Food Programme. This is the best way to get aid safely to the Palestinian population.” This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of the presentation of the second day of Italian Sport in the World at Villa Madama. “Other initiatives are private and individual. We have already instructed all our diplomatic offices in Israel, in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, to assist Italians who may be accused of violating Israeli law in every way possible for several days now,” he added.
