Flotilla, Tajani: “Italiani stanno bene, chiesto a Israele di rispettare diritti”

Florence, Oct. 4 (LaPresse) – “They are all fine.” This was assured by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani regarding the Italians of the Flotilla detained in Israel, speaking to journalists in Florence on the sidelines of a Forza Italia event ahead of the regional elections in Tuscany. “Yesterday there was a consular visit,” Tajani added, “and this morning we also asked the Israeli authorities to respect all the rights of the Italians who are there, who are in custody. Fifteen remain detained, so we are concerned that they are treated in the best possible way. They are in custody, so their freedom is restricted. However, it is important that they also receive individual, non-violent treatment and, I repeat, that all their rights are respected. Therefore, we have asked for their conditions to be improved further. We hope to bring them back to Italy as soon as possible. Twenty-six are about to depart, so we hope this matter will be resolved positively.”
