Turin, Oct 6 (LaPresse) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced they conducted several air raids in response to yesterday’s attacks by Hamas. The IDF had paused their offensive in Gaza City on Saturday following pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump to end the conflict, with ground troops engaged only in defensive operations. The military stated that one attack was carried out by Israeli Air Force jets against a cell of militants armed with mortars and explosives, killing them. According to the IDF, “the group had planned terrorist attacks against troops engaged in Gaza City.” Another raid targeted a cell that was firing mortar rounds at soldiers in Gaza City, injuring one soldier lightly. The army said the soldier was hospitalized and his family notified. The jets then struck and killed the militants who fired the mortars. In a third incident, the army said Hamas militants launched anti-tank rockets at engineering vehicles working in Gaza City, causing no injuries. The IDF said the jets hit the building from which the rockets were launched.
