France, Lecornu: “Next Prime Minister could be appointed within 48 hours”

Rome, Oct 8 (LaPresse) – “I believe there is still a possible path, but it is difficult. I think the situation allows the President of the Republic to appoint a prime minister within the next 48 hours.” This was stated by outgoing French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu in an interview with France 2. “For the past 48 hours, the President has called me back to conduct the final negotiations. I consider my mission completed,” Lecornu added, noting that the majority of members of the National Assembly “do not want a dissolution, not only because of the fear of returning to the polls.”
