Gaza, Abbas: “Agreement should be a prelude to a sustainable political solution”

Rome, Oct. 9 (LaPresse) – The President of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, welcomes the achievement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. In a statement, the PNA says that “the President expresses the hope that these efforts can serve as a prelude to achieving a sustainable political solution that ends the Israeli occupation and leads to the creation of a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders.” Abbas thanks U.S. President Donald Trump and all the mediators, “offering them assistance to ensure the success of the agreement,” and emphasizes the importance that all parties “commit quickly to sign the agreement and release all hostages and prisoners.”
