Frankfurt (Germany), October 10 (LaPresse) – In a joint statement, the leaders of Germany, France, and the UK – Chancellor Friedrich Merz, President Emmanuel Macron, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer – condemned “Russia’s intensified attacks on Ukraine” and the “systematic bombing of civilian infrastructure.” “We will increase pressure on Moscow, as President Putin continues with delaying tactics and despicable attacks,” the three leaders stated. Berlin, London, and Paris have expressed their readiness to “use the value of frozen Russian sovereign assets in a coordinated manner to support Ukraine and push Moscow towards negotiations,” in cooperation with the United States. “We will develop innovative mechanisms to raise the costs of the war and intensify pressure, including on the so-called Russian shadow fleet,” the statement concluded.
