France, Aubry: ‘This is how you set the country on fire’

Milan, 11 October (LaPresse) – ‘What France is experiencing today is not only a political crisis, but also a crisis of Macronism’. This is according to Manon Aubry, MEP for La France Insoumise, the radical left-wing party led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in an interview with La Stampa. ‘The problem is that we have a madman at the helm of the state,’ adds the MEP, before describing Macron as ‘a kind of arsonist who is setting the country on fire’. “Macron has had several opportunities over the last year to choose a left-wing head of government, but he has never done so, not even when we won the legislative elections (in 2024, the New Popular Front Alliance came out on top, ed.). The only solution is for him to leave. If he doesn’t do it himself, we will take care of it with a motion of dismissal that we will resubmit to the National Assembly together with a motion of no confidence if he appoints a new government from his own camp,” he stresses.
