Ukraine, Zelensky: “Positive phone call with Trump, discussed air defense”

Turin, Oct. 11 (LaPresse) – “I had a very positive and productive phone call with United States President Donald Trump. I congratulated him on his success and on the agreement he achieved in the Middle East, an extraordinary result. If a war can be stopped in one region, then surely other wars can also be ended, including the Russian one.” So wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on X. “I informed President Trump about Russia’s attacks on our energy system and appreciate his willingness to support us. We discussed opportunities to strengthen our air defense, as well as the concrete agreements we are working on to ensure it. There are good options and concrete ideas for how to truly reinforce ourselves,” he added. “The Russian side must be ready to engage in real diplomacy: this can be achieved through strength. Thank you, Mr. President,” he concluded.
