Turin, 13 October (LaPresse) – “The implementation of the peace plan in the Middle East? I don’t believe in pacifism, I believe in peacemakers. Peace must be built; it cannot be built by waving flags or shouting slogans and then perhaps turning a peace march into a demonstration where shop windows are smashed and police officers, carabinieri and finance police who have nothing to do with it are beaten up. In my opinion, building peace means building it day by day.” This is what Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in an interview with “Il Foglio” on Saturday, published today in the newspaper. “I believe in the model of peace indicated by Pope Leo XIV on the day of his inauguration, which is peace that starts with each of us,” he added. ‘Living peace, building peace, having peace in your heart: only in this way can you be a peacemaker. Peace is also dialogue; it is built in relationships between people, not just when a treaty is signed after a war. Peace is built day by day.”
