Gaza, Vance: “Violence does not mean the end of the ceasefire”

Washington (USA), Oct. 21 (LaPresse) – The violence that continues to unfold in Gaza “does not mean the end of the ceasefire.” That’s what U.S. Vice President JD Vance said during a press conference in southern Israel. “This is exactly what happens when there are two peoples who hate each other,” Vance added, stating that “we are doing well and are in a good position.” According to The New York Times, U.S. officials have expressed growing concern that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might dismantle the U.S.-brokered Gaza agreement. The current strategy, according to sources, is for JD Vance, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner to try to prevent Netanyahu from resuming a full-scale attack against Hamas. Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating the truce after repeated bursts of violence in recent days, but both sides have said they remain committed to maintaining the ceasefire.
