Ukraine, Rutte: ‘Trump is the only one who can achieve peace’

Washington (USA), 22 October (LaPresse) – NATP Secretary General Mark Rutte has stated that he has complete confidence in Donald Trump to achieve peace in Ukraine. ‘He is the only one who can do it,’ Rutte said, referring to the US president, speaking to reporters after meeting with a bipartisan group of senators on Capitol Hill. Rutte said his visit was intended to offer whatever support NATO could provide to back the ‘president’s clear vision of ending this war in a lasting way.’ Rutte also denied that his visit to Washington was decided after Trump cancelled his planned meeting with Vladimir Putin in Hungary: ‘I was texting the president after the huge success in Gaza and I said, “Hey, let’s meet in Washington to discuss how we can realise your vision of peace in Ukraine”.’
