Brussels, Oct. 23 (LaPresse) – The 27 EU member states have given the green light, through a written procedure, to the 19th EU sanctions package against Moscow. “Today is a good day for Europe and Ukraine. It is extremely positive that we have reached an agreement on the 19th EU sanctions package against Russia. It will introduce new and comprehensive measures on oil and gas, the shadow fleet, and the Russian financial sector,” said Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. “One of the initiatives,” he added, “is the ban on imports of liquefied natural gas, which is an important step towards the complete phasing out of Russian energy from the EU. The sanctions have a real impact and are damaging the Russian economy. Russia is finding it increasingly difficult to finance its illegal war of aggression against Ukraine.”
