Brussels, 23 October (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the European Council in Brussels. “We discussed how to protect our energy sector from Russian attacks and make it more resilient. Italy has the necessary expertise and equipment for this,‘ Zelensky announced on X. ’Separately, we focused on joint defence projects under the SAFE instrument. It is important that such initiatives benefit the whole of Europe. We also addressed the crucial issue of the use of frozen Russian assets. It is right that these funds should be used to support and defend our country,” Zelensky added.
