Middle East: Trump arrives in Qatar, meets with emir and prime minister

Milan, 25 October (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump met with Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani aboard Air Force One during a refuelling stop on his way to Malaysia. Trump called Al Thani ‘one of the great leaders of the world, not just the Middle East.’ Trump also met with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, calling him ‘a friend of mine and a friend of the world.’ ‘We have done a lot together, especially in the last year… peace in the Middle East, and they have played a very important role in this,’ Trump told them, ‘we express our gratitude to you and hope that the Middle East is safe at this moment and that you continue to keep it that way for a long time.’
