Washington, 25 October (LaPresse/AP) – US President Donald Trump has announced the end of ‘all trade negotiations’ with Canada due to a television advert, which has already been withdrawn, that used the words of former President Ronald Reagan to criticise US tariffs. The US leader called the advert ‘dirty play, but I can play dirtier than them’. On Friday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, whose province had sponsored the advert, said it would be removed, although it will continue to air this weekend. Ford said, after speaking with Prime Minister Mark Carney, that he had decided to suspend the advertising campaign starting Monday so that trade negotiations could resume.
