US-China, Bessent: ‘Initial agreement on fentanyl, soybeans and rare earths’

Milan, 26 October (LaPresse) – US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that discussions with China had led to initial agreements to prevent the chemical precursors of fentanyl from entering the United States and that Beijing would make ‘substantial’ purchases of soybeans and other agricultural products, postponing controls on rare earth exports. Progress towards a potential agreement was made during the annual summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
