Milan, 29 October (LaPresse) – A river burst its banks and flooded houses near Petit-Goâve, a coastal town in southern Haiti, killing 25 people. The mayor of Petit-Goâve, Jean Bertrand Subrème, told the Associated Press that dozens of houses had collapsed and people were trapped under the rubble. The news comes in the context of the flooding caused by Hurricane Melissa. ‘I am overwhelmed by the situation,’ he said, imploring the government to help rescue the victims.
