Argentina: Milei’s chief of staff resigns

Buenos Aires (Argentina), 1 Nov. (LaPresse/AP) – Argentine President Javier Milei’s chief of staff has resigned, less than a week after the La Libertad Avanza party won a clear victory in the mid-term legislative elections. Guillermo Francos, a 75-year-old career politician with decades of experience at the heart of government, said in a statement that he would resign so that President Milei could ‘face the phase of government that begins after the national elections without constraints.’ On the heels of the election victory and $40 billion in funds promised by the Trump administration, Milei announced that his chief spokesman, Manuel Adorni, would replace the mild-mannered Francos as chief of staff.
