Rome, 2 November (LaPresse/AP) – The US military has carried out another air strike against suspected drug traffickers in the Caribbean Sea, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has announced. Hegseth said in a social media post that the vessel was operated by a US-designated terrorist organisation, but did not specify which group was targeted. He said three drug traffickers were killed in the attack. This is at least the fifteenth such attack carried out by the US military in the Caribbean or the eastern Pacific since the beginning of September. This vessel, like all others, was known to our intelligence to be involved in illicit drug trafficking, was transiting along a known drug trafficking route and was carrying drugs,” Hegseth said in a post on X. The US military has killed at least 64 people in the attacks so far.
