Rome, 2 November (LaPresse) – A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump is possible, but ‘not necessary’ at this time. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Tass. The Kremlin representative emphasised that the need now exists for painstaking work on the Ukrainian settlement. The presidents of Russia and the United States agreed to meet in Budapest and begin preparations for it following a conversation on 16 October. However, on 23 October, Trump unexpectedly announced the postponement of such a summit indefinitely because, according to the American leader, he will not be able to achieve ‘what is necessary’ on the appointed dates.
