Harrisburg (Pennsylvania, USA), 5 November (LaPresse/AP) – All three judges of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in the United States who stood for re-election will serve another term, ensuring that Democrats retain their majority in the state’s highest court by a 5-2 margin. The result determines the composition of the seven-member court until the next presidential election in 2028. The three judges who were re-elected are Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty and David Wecht. All three had stood for what are known as confirmation elections, in which voters are asked to vote “yes” or “no” on whether to grant another term to the current judges. They were not identified by party on the ballot. The term of office is 10 years, although age limits may shorten that period.
