Iraq: Polling stations open for parliamentary elections

Rome, 11 November (LaPresse) – Polling stations have opened for legislative elections in Iraq. The vote is called to renew the 329 seats in Parliament. Of this number, at least 25 per cent – 83 seats – will go to women. Voters will have to choose between 7,744 candidates. The outcome of the polls will determine the appointment of the new President of the Republic and the formation of the government.
