Rome, 11 November (LaPresse) – The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported that it has foiled a Ukrainian-British plot to hijack a MiG-31 fighter jet equipped with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile. This was reported by the Russian news agency Ria Novosti. ‘The measures taken by Ukrainian and British intelligence to organise a large-scale provocation have been interrupted,’ the statement said. According to the intelligence service, the GUR of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence tried to recruit Russian pilots, promising them three million dollars. Kiev offered one of the pilots citizenship of a Western country. According to Ria Novosti, Ukrainian military intelligence planned to send the MiG-31 to the area of the NATO base in the city of Constanta, Romania, where it could be shot down by air defences and thus organise a provocation.
