United Kingdom, Starmer: “I believe in a strong BBC, but if mistakes are made, it must put its house in order”

Rome, Nov. 12 (LaPresse) – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he believes in a “strong and independent BBC,” adding that “in an age of disinformation, the demand for an impartial British news service is stronger than ever.” Starmer made these remarks in response to questions from Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey, who during Question Time had harshly criticized Donald Trump, saying that the tycoon’s goal was to “destroy our BBC.” In this regard, Starmer stressed that the BBC “must uphold the highest standards” and that “when mistakes are made, it must put its house in order.”
