USA, Trump signs: longest shutdown in the country’s history ends

Washington (United States), 13 Nov. (LaPresse/AP) – The longest shutdown in US history has ended after 43 days. President Donald Trump signed the measure. The record-breaking shutdown caused financial stress for federal employees, who were left without pay, stranded dozens of travellers at airports and generated long queues. The signing took place a few hours after the measure was approved by the House of Representatives, where there were 222 votes in favour and 209 against.
