Judge rejects deployment of National Guard in Washington

Washington (USA), 20 Nov. (LaPresse) – A federal judge has blocked the deployment of the National Guard in Washington, ordered by President Donald Trump as part of an operation to crack down on local crime. Judge Jia Cobb, appointed by former President Biden, ruled that sending the National Guard on “non-military crime deterrence missions” likely exceeded federal authority and violated the law. The judge suspended the order until 11 December so that the administration can appeal.
