Gaza authorities: ‘Over 70,000 Palestinians have died since the start of the war’

Deir al-Balah (Gaza Strip), 29 Nov. (LaPresse/AP) – The Gaza Ministry of Health has stated that the Palestinian death toll has reached 70,100 since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas. The toll has continued to rise even after the latest ceasefire came into effect on 10 October. Israel continues to carry out attacks in response to what it calls violations of the truce, and the bodies of victims from the first phase of the war continue to be recovered from the rubble. The Ministry of Health operates under the Hamas-led government. It is composed of medical professionals and keeps detailed records that are generally considered reliable by the international community.
