Ukraine, Moscow: “Contacts with Washington will continue”

Rome, Dec. 3 (LaPresse) – Russian presidential foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov has stated that there is still much work to be done to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but that the parties are not far from reaching a result. “There is still much work to be done, both in Washington and in Moscow. Contacts will continue under this condition,” he said. “We did not discuss specific formulations or specific US proposals, but rather the essence of what was contained in these American documents. On some points we managed to reach agreement, and the president confirmed this to his interlocutors. Others prompted criticism, and the president made no secret of our critical and even negative attitude towards several proposals,” Ushakov said after the nearly five hours of talks at the Kremlin. “The main thing is that there was a very useful discussion,” he added.
