Turin, 10 December (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Parliament representatives the possibility of holding elections under martial law. “Today I spoke with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada. We had a concrete discussion,‘ he explained in his evening speech, quoted by Ukrinform. ’I will not allow any speculation against Ukraine: if our partners – including our key partner in Washington – talk so much and so clearly about elections in Ukraine, about elections under martial law, then we must provide legitimate Ukrainian answers to every question and every doubt.” ‘It’s not easy, but we certainly don’t need pressure on this issue. I expect the deputies of the Ukrainian people to put forward their vision,’ Zelensky said, reiterating that security issues related to the conduct of the elections depend primarily on the United States, while political and legal issues must be resolved by Ukraine.
