Zagreb (Croatia), 11 December (LaPresse/AP) – A boat carrying migrants capsized this morning on the Sava River in eastern Croatia, killing at least three people and injuring eight others, according to local authorities. The accident occurred in the eastern town of Slavonski Brod, on the border with Bosnia. According to reports from rescuers on state television HRT, it appears that the migrants were trying to cross the Sava River in thick fog when the boat capsized. Firefighter Ivan Vuleta said emergency services received a call at around 5:30 a.m. reporting people in the river and rushed to the scene with rescue boats. Police said a man from Bosnia is suspected of human trafficking. The man was taken to hospital. The nationality of the migrants was not specified.
