Time: ‘Person of the Year: the “architects” of artificial intelligence’

Rome, 11 December (LaPresse) – Artificial intelligence architects are Time magazine’s Person of the Year for 2025. “2025 was the year that the full potential of artificial intelligence emerged in all its scope, and it became clear that there would be no turning back,” reads the magazine’s profile. ‘For ushering in the era of thinking machines, for astonishing and worrying humanity, for transforming the present and transcending the possible, the Architects of AI are the Person of the Year 2025,’ the magazine explains its choice. The cover recalls the iconic 1932 photo “Lunch atop a Skyscraper”, which depicts workers engaged in the construction of a skyscraper having lunch while sitting on a steel beam. In their place are Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta; Lisa Su, CEO of AMD; Elon Musk, XAl; Jensen Huang, President and CEO of Nvidia; Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI; Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind Technologies; Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic; and Fei-Fei Li, Co-Director of the Human-Centred AI Institute at Stanford and CEO of World Labs.
