Milan, 14 Dec. (LaPresse) – “This afternoon, a devastating terrorist attack took place in Bondi during the Hanukkah by the Sea celebration. This was a targeted attack against Australian Jews on the first day of Hanukkah, which should be a day of joy, a celebration of faith. It is an act of evil anti-Semitism, terrorism, which has struck at the heart of our nation. An attack on Australian Jews is an attack on all Australians.” This was stated by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, according to ABC News. ‘The evil that has been unleashed today at Bondi Beach is beyond comprehension, and the trauma and loss that families are facing tonight is beyond anyone’s worst nightmare,’ he said. “There is no place for this hatred, this violence and this terrorism in our nation. I want to be clear: we will root it out. Out of this cowardly act of violence and hatred will emerge a moment of national unity in which all Australians embrace their fellow citizens of the Jewish faith. In this dark hour for our nation, our police and security agencies are working to identify anyone involved in this outrage,” he added.
