Ukraine, Madrid sources: “Without peace, we are not considering sending troops”

Madrid (Spain), Dec. 16 (LaPresse) – The Spanish government is not considering the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine because there is still no peace scenario. “As long as there is no peace scenario, we will not take into consideration the possibility of sending troops,” sources at the Spanish Ministry of Defence told LaPresse. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has signed the joint declaration on Ukraine agreed yesterday in Berlin by European leaders, which provides for the creation of a Europe-led multinational force that will help protect Ukrainian airspace and ensure maritime security, “including through operations within Ukraine”. What Spain will do, the sources stressed, is “continue to send military aid” to Kyiv.
