Milan, 18 December (LaPresse) – ‘With regard to the ongoing attempts by the European Union authorities to seize/illegally use, without the consent of the Bank of Russia, its assets deposited with EU financial institutions, including through the indefinite freezing of its assets,’ the Bank of Russia, ‘in accordance with its previously stated position of protecting its interests, announces that it will ask European banks, before the Russian arbitration court, for compensation for damages caused by the illegal seizure and use of its assets, to the extent of the illegally retained assets and lost profits.’ The Russian Central Bank wrote this in a note published on its Telegram channel.
