Gaza: WSJ, luxury hotel in Kushner-Witkoff reconstruction plan

Milan, 20 Dec. (LaPresse) – The team led by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and two other senior White House advisers has drawn up a draft plan for the reconstruction of Gaza. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal, which pointed out that the plan is illustrated in 32 PowerPoint slides. According to the presentation, some of whose slides were shown to the US newspaper, the plan, known as “Project Sunrise”, will cost at least $112 billion in the first decade of the reconstruction period and includes luxury hotels on the coast, a high-speed train and smart electricity grids based on artificial intelligence. US officials interviewed by the WSJ expressed “serious doubts” about the feasibility of the plan, both because of Hamas’ refusal to disarm and because of the fear of many countries to finance the reconstruction process as long as there is a possibility of renewed fighting.
