France: pro-Russian hackers claim responsibility for attack on postal service

Paris (France), 24 Dec. (LaPresse/AP) – A pro-Russian hacker group has claimed responsibility for a major cyberattack that blocked parcel deliveries by the French national postal service a few days before Christmas. Following the claim by the cybercrime group known as Noname057, the French intelligence agency DGSI took charge of the investigation into the cyberattack, the Paris prosecutor’s office said in a statement to the Associated Press. The group has been blamed for other cyberattacks in Europe, including those committed during a NATO summit in the Netherlands and at French government sites. It was the target of a major European police operation earlier this year.
