Rome, 31 Dec. (LaPresse) – “Between 28 and 29 December 2025, the Kiev regime attempted a terrorist attack with long-range drones (UAVs) against the Russian presidential residence in the Novgorod region. At around 7:20 p.m. on 28 December 2025, units of the radio-technical troops of the Aerospace Forces detected an air attack with fixed-wing drones operating at extremely low altitudes from the Sumy and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine.” This was stated by the commander of the air defence crew, Grom, in a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defence, as reported by Tass. The first wave of Ukrainian long-range drone attacks against the Russian presidential residence in the Novgorod region came from the south, from the Tver region. “On the night of 29 December, an attempt was made to strike a protected facility with an aeronautical-type drone. The first enemy drones approached from the south, from the Tver region, towards the Novgorod region. All targets were destroyed. After the destruction of the first wave of drones, a second wave of drones entered the Novgorod region from the west and headed towards the protected facility. During the raid, 41 drones were destroyed. The attempt to penetrate the battle formation and overwhelm our defences was unsuccessful,‘ he said, explaining that the crew acted as planned and all targets were destroyed. ’The target of the drone attack was a protected facility in the Valdai district of the Novgorod region,” clarified the commander of the air defence crew.
